It’s warming up

Our summer has been so spotty.  For the most part it has been cool, but now it has plans to warm up.  Finally! This outfit with the light colors feels rather summery.  I had to wear a white cami underneath the white shirt, since it is a bit see through.  It also helps control the [...]

Blue is my color

I got this dress last week and couldn’t wait to wear it.  I rather like to wear dresses in the summer.  So simple and easy to wear.  This one even had POCKETS!  It also has some interesting tucking and folding on the bodice.  As a seamstress, I love these neat details on garments. The style works [...]

Sunshine and early mornings

I was actually able to get some shots before work this morning.  Amazing!  Of course, I still had to dress my prone daughter and threaten to take away cartoons if she didn’t start moving…but I had enough time to get some quick pictures. As you can probably see, I have a fairly static number of [...]

Is it summer yet?

Oh the grayness that has been in our skies…however, I don’t mind gray when I’m taking photos.  I just need to figure out how to take photos before the end of the day and I’m all wrinkly.  Unfortunately, getting my daughter out of bed in the morning is like waking a hibernating bear.  I just don’t [...]

gray days

It has been so dreary here the past week or so.  Rain, rain…please go away! The ponds are flooded and are new flowers are sitting in inches of water.  I hope they survive.  At least there is no watering needed. I had to try to stay on dry ground for these photos, so I am [...]

Going back

Lately I have been buying and then returning. I bought a couple of Spanx slips to wear with a tight dress that I bought at a low weight. Never a good idea…buying something at your low weight. I hope to wear it again, but I know it will be months. At least it was only [...]

Natural

These light colors are perfect for a Friday in the summertime.  Light and airy.  I just wish I didn’t look so “fluffy” in this outfit. Note to self: Don’t wear clothes that accentuate your lack of waistline.  It doesn’t look good. I have gained a few pounds in the last month or so.  When we got [...]

Pretty jewelry

We went to the mall as a family to go buy the hubby a trousseau for our travels to Vegas. He doesn’t buy new clothes very often (generally every few years), so the little urchins needed some patience while we shopped. We bribed them with DQ if they were good. Ice cream always works so [...]

Turquoise

I bought this sleeveless white shirt this spring from CAbi, and I’m not really sold on it.  It isn’t exactly the most flattering of tops.  I love the neckline,  but the ruching on the stomach makes that area look bigger.  Like anyone needs that! The necklace was made for me by an online friend.  She [...]

Movement

This dress appears rather boxy on a hanger, but walking in it makes it come to life.  The fabric moves a lot without being overly clingy.  It graces your curves and then moves away with the next step.  Added plus is that it is super comfy. Dress: Anne Taylor LOFT Jewelry: Silpada Shoes: Unlisted (so [...]
