A pretty present

September 2, 2008

On Saturday one of our friend’s turned 29…again. 😉  I hadn’t made a necklace in a long time so I decided to pull out my beads and see what I had to work with.  The necklace and earrings I made are bronze beads with silver findings.  I  couldn’t just leave it at that, so I made a satin jewelry pouch lined with velvet to go with it.  A lady needs some prettiness!

Sorry the picture didn’t turn out too clear.  I should have taken it on a solid surface, but I thought the stone had a lot of the same colors.  Unfortunately they all kind of blend together.

I am hoping to accomplish a few projects this week while I am on vacation.  I am going to try to paint part of the basement, though, so I may not get as much done as I want.  I got all the many, many spiders vacuumed up yesterday, so I’m off to good start, right??  Generally when I take a week off, I keep the kids in daycare so I can get things done like painting, sewing, etc.  I try to be productive and get caught up with life.  I hope I’m successful!

  1. There is no end to your talent, Stacy!
I wish you LOTS of productiveness on your vacation – but be sure to take a little time to, well…you know, REST, too! 🙂

  2. Hmmm, yes I’ve done the same thing. When I decide to take a “mental health” day off and stay home the kids still go to school and W.W. off to daycare. It’s nice to have a day to catch up on projects. The necklace looks great!

  3. Okay, I may just have to go on a read-strike with your blog. I feel amazed, yet totally useless after I read about all the things you seem to be able to whip up from thin air! 🙂 Just kidding – you are so talented, love to see your creativity! 🙂

  4. I LOVE those vacation days with the kids in day care, I can get SO MUCH DONE. I never knew how much free time I had until I had kids…have a great, productive week, we can’t wait to hear what you come up with!

  5. Another hidden talen I didnt know you had…Jewelry maker. I love the satin pouch you made. That is beautiful. Hope you have a wonderful vacation week. I bet you will feel good about accomplishing so much while the kids are away. And I am sure the kids will have a great time playing at daycare!

  6. That’s a really pretty necklace set. I’ve been thinking of trying my hand at jewelry making…stringing beads looks meditative. I used to do hemp/macrome necklaces (aka tying knots). I enjoyed that.
