Dresses galore

March 4, 2008

I will wait until next week to post the PIF items I finally completed (Hear that girls??  They are actually done!).  Hopefully I will get them in the mail at some point this week, and I really liked how they both turned out.  As for my other PIF gift…look how cute Baby Beebo is in her PIF dress.  🙂

Here are a few items I completed in the last few weeks.  You will recognize this dress from yesterday and the basic style as I’ve made this before.  I bought the little satin roses at Michael’s and sewed them on really well.

A swing top.  It is a similar style, only this is made in a bigger size and meant to be a top.  I want it to match these capris that I made last spring that will still fit her this year.

Then I made this dress out of this pattern.  I just added the band at the waist and at the hem, and that is the only modifications I made to it.  I love toile and this is so cute…if only I hadn’t made that mistake.

  Can you see my mistake?

  1. Ah! Upside down! Only noticed because of the above post though… so don’t worry too much! These are all adorable and I am having a hard time picking out my favorite. Maybe the Upsidedown Fabric one…

Baby Beebo just loves her dress and we have already worn it to a birthday party! Thanks again!

  2. Can you make me a larger version of the last dress??? lol
I love them all! Even with the upside down fabric, the last dress is just SO cute.

  3. Thanks ladies! I knew lori would find it. 😉 I keep mulling over etsy…I’m not sure yet if I want to that. You know, the added stress and all.

  4. Mistake what mistake, I couldn’t find a mistake in your wonderful sewing projects with a set of detailed instructions. 😉

I love the little purple dress.

  5. Only because you pointed it out…so would not have even noticed it otherwise. You do need to sell some stuff, in my size! I ADORE that last dress…it is so cute. And the swing top. Oh and that sweet dress on the gorgeous mannequin.

    Love. Love. Love…

  6. I so wouldn’t have noticed the mistake apart from you saying there was one and then the rest of these ladies pointing it out !! I would have just thought the dress was meant to be different ! And you could so pull that off !! I love what you do and I’ve got to say … the dress looks so cute on your new wire dress rack !!

  7. yeah i didn’t notice at all, even trying to find it, except for the comments here. i think they’re adorable! if i had a baby girl, i’d pay you to make her adorable little dresses. 🙂

  8. Nope!
I can’t see your mistake – now you have to tell me what it is – oh I read it above. Now I’ll go look again, hee hee.
Your dresses are gorgeous :). Very inspiring!

  9. Is it that the skirt fabric is upside down? It looks lovely and I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. It looks very similar to a pattern I just bought to try my hand at little girl dresses. These are all beautiful. I love your fabric choices. They are darling without being juvenile.

  10. I never would have noticed it if you hadn’t pointed it out! I love that last dress – I want one in my size, too! You totally cshould sell your creations…you could charge a pretty penny and quit your day job! I love every single item you make.

  11. Even after I knew what the mistake was, I STILL had to go back and try to figure it out. Either I am a total dork (which I will admit is very likely) or no one is really going to be able to tell (which is also very likely). That stuff is too cute!

  12. Nah, I didn’t notice the mistake and I am an old sewing hand! I wondered if there was a naked man on the horse/dog/thing 😀 Just my warped mind!!!
I once made that mistake when sewing a velvet swing back jacket and so ended up making my sister a MATCHING velvet swing back jacket. Love seeing your projects. They are so original and refreshing.

  13. Thanks everyone! I was wondering how easily the upside down fabric would be to see, so that sets my mind at ease. 🙂 I didn’t have enough to recut…of course the back is the right way.
