I used paper to create this pattern, so I’m going to go with this one.
It was a copy of a top I purchased and I wanted to make one similar to it for the Renaissance Festival. This is a pretty simple peasant top pattern. I did make the back lower than the front, so the pattern piece doesn’t show everything. I also cut 5 ruffles about 4″ wide and the length of the fabric to make the ruffles on the arms and the body pieces. Each arm was one width and the bottom was 3 total.

I made it with gauze, since I wanted it to be cooler for a Texas summer. It turned out pretty much how I wanted.

I also made a headpiece/yarn dreadlock thing for my hair for the fest. I took out all of my bits and bobs, sat on the deck on Mother’s Day with a few beers and my children and listened to music while braiding and creating. It turned into this majesty of yarn, leather and feathers. I thought it might be too long when I was done, but Nope! My hair is getting super long again.

I was going to get pictures on the day of the faire, but only really got this one. I wore it with a skort I made from a LOR fabric I sewed samples for from Moonbeam Fabrics many moons ago:

Trust me, the outfit was cute, but I was also really hot and sweating since it was 90 degrees and humid outside. I ended up having to put my hair up in a bun, so not quite the look I was going for, but it was sooooo hot. I’ll try to get better pictures when we go to the ren fest here in the fall.
