Pockets are good things. I put pockets in these pants I made for my son for the Renaissance Festival. Another self-drafted creation. He wanted something cooler than the pleather pants I made him before, which it wouldn’t take much since those hold in the heat. These are linen pants and a little wider than the last ones I made him. I had to adjust the waist a few times since he is a skinny guy.

I put elastic in the back and then did an interesting flap over the zipper fly. I used some old looking buttons to secure it.

Then it was still too loose, so I added a half-belt to the front that he could adjust.

Now here he is wearing his new pants with the other things I made him.

I also had to do a new belt for him, since he outgrew the one I made to go with his Assassins’s Creed cosplay when he was in middle school (go figure!). I had some veg tan leather, so I cut out a belt, dyed it and put the buckle I had in the old belt onto this one. Pretty easy if you have over-bought all your supplies and can just whip it up. 😉

I was told I needed to make my hubby a costume now, since he is the only one of us with no gear. Some research is underway!
