Week 26 – Jun 25-July 1 Clean your Sewing Space/WIP
I cleaned the space as some of my daughter’s college friends were coming for a visit. I wanted to let them each have a room, but they ended up just staying in my son’s open room. At least I got it cleaned up…it needed it:

Week 50 – Dec 10-16 Sew Something to Gift or Donate
One of my good friends had a birthday, so I had to make her something special. I first made another purse that I will post once I fix the issues I had with it. It just didn’t turn out how I wanted it to look, so back to the drawing board.
This one I had done previously and had the pattern all ready to go, so I made her a nice cream leather cross body bag. I got the strap from Amazon, and let her know that if she wanted to change the straps they had some cute ones.

This was drafted from a picture of a travel purse that is out of an apparently theft proof fabric and webbing. This is normal, non-theft proof webbing and leather, but still pretty sweet.

Week 29 – Jul 16-22 Sew a Zipper
After making the one above, I wanted to make another one. I bought this design printed scrap leather and had another leather that matched it. The inside is a soft grey satin.

These are the pattern pieces for this purse:

Unfortunately, when I pounded down the seams with a hammer it ripped a little piece of the leather. I also made the opening at the top a bit too small, so it is hard to get things in and out of it. After I did that I reworked the pattern pieces a little bit.

Here are some “making of” pictures that are incomplete. I mostly did it for myself since putting the pieces together for the front is a bit of a puzzle. I have to rethink it each time I make it.
