Stuff I made

A capsule wardrobe for the Little Miss

September 14, 2012

I don’t normally post pictures of my kids on this blog, but since it is about style and fashion I thought I would this time.  Plus I have a ton of pictures I need to go through for my outfits, and I just haven’t had the time or inclination to sit at my computer to go through them.

Every Fall I take the week of Labor Day off of work so I can get a start on sewing a winter wardrobe for my kids.  I love designing clothes for them that are fashionable and unique.  Like most of my clothes I make, I create the patterns and designs all on my own.  This time I experimented with iron on crystals for my daughter’s shirts.  I have washed one of the shirts and it seemed to stay on pretty well.

She definitely has an opinion on what she wears.  Right now she is into a “rock star” vibe and says she likes black.  I have noticed she also still likes pink and other colors, so I made sure to put in pops of bright colors.  As you can see, this line is all about black and white and mixing and matching.  She can interchange most of the shirts with the bottoms.  I also made her a matching black and white bikini for swim lessons, but I don’t want to post that here.  Trust me…it’s super cute!

Here is the start of her Fall/Winter wardrobe.  Now I need to get started on clothes for my little man.  He grew 4.5 inches in the last year, so pretty much none of the pants from last winter fit him.

  1. oh, stacy your little miss is so lovely and sweet! a real princess. you certainly are very proud of her, and she surely is very proud to have a mother creating such a wonderful unique wardrobe.
