CAbi wear

July 12, 2012

About 6 years ago I was introduced to the CAbi line of clothing through a home sale at a neighbor’s house.  I was impressed with the quality of the clothes, in addition to the fact that the pants were long enough for me.  This is rare, let me tell you.  I am 5′ 7″ and like to wear 3-4″ heels.  Most RTW dress pants are probably around a 32″ inseam, which is too short for me with even a moderate heel.  CAbi makes their pants with a 35″ inseam, which I just LOVE.  I think my legs are long for my height.  There is only about an inch between my hip bone and the bottom of my rib cage, so I must have a shorter torso.  Thus…the reason I have no waist!

I have these pants in black, too.  Once I got the black pair home and tried them on, I got ahold of the consultant and bought them in gray, too.  These are by far my favorite dress pants.  My favorite piece from CAbi is a jacket, though.  It is a black velveteen long jacket, lined in satin, with a beautiful floral embroidery on it.  I waited for the sample sale from the consultant to get it at a discounted price, and every time I wear it I get compliments on it.  I’ll have to try to get that up on the blog at some point.  It is a beautiful piece.

Top – CAbi

Pants – CAbi

Necklace – Von Maur

Shoes – Charlotte Russe

Hair – Lots ‘o braids.  I did two smallish braids on the side, one braid down the center front, and then gathered them into a ponytail at the back.  I braided the pony and put it into a bun with 3″ pins.
