Sewing

Creamsicle

August 1, 2011

Due to a busy week/weekend, I didn’t get any sewing done.  BUT I did sew this a few weeks back, so I have something to show today.

I wasn’t thrilled with how it turned out, but it is mostly due to the fabric.  It is a “bunchy” fabric, so it tends to add weight on a person.  Add to the fact that I gained a few pounds with all the take out eating and beer drinking over the weekend…well, it could fit a bit better.

This is just a long tank that is fully lined in a cream lycra/polyester blend.  I had a brain fart when I was sewing it up, so I had to cut the back up the middle.  Making things fully lined is an art and a science…and apparently requires a fully awake mind.

I must have needed more coffee.

I actually did sew a little bit last week, but that isn’t something to show.  One of our friends needed a pocket in his scuba diving harness.  He of course needed it that day because he was leaving on a trip the next day.  It wasn’t too tough, so I got it done and now he owes me.  😉

I’m hoping to be able to work on a tutorial this weekend for a faux wrap top for little girls.  Wish me luck in actually getting something done.

I will need it. 🙂

  1. I think the top is very flattering. It looks comfy too. My sewing machine is feeling a bit neglected. I just can’t seem to find any motivation to sew right now.
