Draped top in black & white

May 29, 2018

Just a quick blog post to show I have sewn a few things.  I just haven’t gotten them posted on my blog!

Here is another top made from a pattern I drafted a few years ago from a RTW top I loved.  It is nice to have a few staple patterns that you can pull out and whip up.

I just love the fit of it.  I do change it by adding more drape to it depending on what I want to do.  This one I went out 4″ on the top of the pattern (just pivot out from the fold line) to give it more drape.  I wouldn’t go anymore than that or it would be indecent.

The arms and back neckline I just do binding on them, with a band at the bottom of the top.

The fabric is Modern Jersey from Spoonflower in one of my fabric designs.

The skort here is one I made last summer.  It was a super comfy outfit to wear on a 3 hour drive to our friend’s cabin last Friday.  That Friday cabin traffic is always so horrible.  When we got there it also worked well for drinking some red wine while pontooning around the lake!

When we got home on Sunday we had to face the reality of cleaning up the backyard.  This was the before.  It is just so overgrown, and the after doesn’t look much different.  Not sure that we can do much until we get the kids out of sports for the summer.
