Focus – Week 15

April 18, 2018

My accomplishments this week

Focus Photo –

April blizzard…16+ inches of snow in our town.  Give or take an inch.

Sewing –
  • My 52 week sewing challenge for the week was something woven, and I got a pretty fun skirt done.  It is part of a strike off outfit due at the end of the month, so no real pictures of it, yet.  Here is a sneak peek.  It is pretty fun!

  • #makenine progress:

Nothing this past week.

  • Strike off sewing – I got one outfit done and just need to do the top to match the skirt above.  I have until around the 21st to get the pictures in, so I have most of this week.  After the snowstorm, it looks like pictures will be inside.

Sneak peek. 🙂

House cleaning –

Nothing this past week, other than getting the dining room sorted out.  This next week I will try to tackle the living room.

When I wake up the morning, before I start work, I’ve been trying to get the kitchen cleaned up, a load of laundry started and our bed made.  I figure then…at least I have accomplished something!

Time with family –

We went and saw the movie, The Miracle Season.  If you go watch that, bring a box of Kleenex.  It was good….but quite emotional, especially as a parent.

Health, exercising, making healthy meals –
  • Meals went better this week, and I made most of the meals on my plan.

  • This next week’s plan is mainly going along with what I need to get out of the fridge:
    • Monday – Leftovers
    • Tuesday – Balsamic chicken, au gratin potatoes, asparagus & warmed up bread and dipping oil with a bottle of Carlisle Zinfandel.  Not low fat.
    • Wednesday – Sauteed Cabbage and Kielbasa, with quinoa (need to use up some stuff)
    • Thursday – Meatloaf, carrots, salad
    • Friday – Volleyball Tournament – eating out
    • Saturday – Volleyball Tournament – eating out
    • Sunday – Didn’t get that ham made last week, so maybe baked ham, mashed potatoes, salad
Creative Design –

Most of my creative juices this week were spent trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my strike-offs.  I was drawing different clothing designs, so nothing surface-design related last week.

This next week and weekend will be busy.  I need to get the strike-off top done, and then I think I am mostly free for a little bit.  Maybe I can start drafting my little jacket.
