Focus – Week 28-30

July 30, 2018

Gotta admit…this summer has thoroughly exhausted me.  I’m not sure how the kids would have gotten everywhere if I hadn’t been “working” from home.  While I did get what I needed done for work, it was definitely affected by my kids activities, with having to work late on many nights when I really shouldn’t have had to do that for my work load.  Add on that the fact that all the strike-off’s seemed to come at the same time, despite volunteering for them weeks apart (some were MONTHS apart)…well, this last week sucked all my energy out.  We also volunteered to host the end of softball season party.  It didn’t jive well with some of the other parents’ schedules, but really…it’s never going to work for everyone.  We had the state baseball tournament and then a volleyball tournament on Saturday.  Saturday night was the end of the season dinner after the last game, so we didn’t get home until around 10pm.  I was stick a fork in me, I’m done by then!  Now this week the boy has an all star type of tournament, and it is on the other side of the metro (of course!).  They get a week at the relatives farm next week and then it is two-a-days practices for high school volleyball and football until school starts.  I know, I know…this time is short, but I’m stressing.  I really hope our daughter chooses her sport, since she will have club softball during high school volleyball.  There is only so much time to go around.

My accomplishments

Photos –

Spent the afternoon at the horse races.  They had a few exotic animal races, so they were fun to watch, too.  There were A LOT of people there, so it wasn’t as fun as normal.  I think the exotic animal races brought them out.

The girls participated in the Nationals softball tournament.  It was a fun four days!

This weekend was a baseball tournament and a volleyball tournament.

Sewing –

  • This strike off was for Affordable Fabrics and More and will go to our grand-nephew.

House cleaning –

  • Had a charity pickup on Tuesday.  Now there is more to go through.
  • Need to get the bathroom painted and the girl’s bedroom, too.  I need to take some time off.

Time with family –

  • We spent the day at the races, but it was really hot!  Then we went to see the new Jurassic Park movie on Sunday.  Finally got to spend some weekend time NOT at a ballpark.
  • Then…the last two weekends were lots of time with family during multiple tournaments.

Health, exercising, making healthy meals –

  • Exercise started, but then it went to the wayside again.

Creative Design –

I made a softball for water bottles for the girls.  This is a gift that they give to the opposing team at their first game at Nationals.  I also made some for our girls.

Reading –

I did some reading, but it was mostly re-reading some of Dianne Duvall’s Immortal Guardian’s series, and then I read the two new ones in the series.  They were good as usual!  I am all caught up again, so bummer.  Have to wait until next year for her to write another one.

This next week is busy.  I’m actually looking forward to the kids going back to school in September!
