Into the grays

October 9, 2012

The tops here are from my recent foray into purchasing clothes at a retail store.  In looking back over the last year or so…I have rarely purchased clothes for myself.

Let’s not talk about fabric, though…that is whole ‘nother story!  I can’t fit it all into the shelves in my fabric room.

It was fun to just go and buy stuff.  I usually feel so guilty about adding to consumerism that I just don’t purchase clothes.  I mean, it’s not like thrift stores aren’t full to the brim with donated clothes!  It’s alright to splurge every once in awhile, right??

Shirt and Cami – Von Maur

Pants – CAbi

Silver chains necklace – Von Maur

Turquoise jewelry – free silver jewelry

Shoes – Nine West

Hair – I put my front up in a bun, then braided the back.  I wrapped that braid around the top bun and pinned in place.

  1. I like your tops. I’ve never been in a Von Maur, although there’s a new one here. I rarely shop retail. Your hair looks great as well. Do you live in the south? I have no idea where Von Maur has stores so I’m curious.

    Have a great week!!

  2. The top and cami are beautiful. Sometimes you can’t find what you need via thrifting, and shopping is necessary. I’ve never heard of Von Maur before.

I’m also really in awe of your beautiful braid up-do.

  3. Oh Stacy, this consumerism thing, I can relate! 🙂
But at least you can sew, so you’re much better off than me who can’t sew 😛 But just today I was thinking that I will either shop organic materials or just try to buy everything second hand or some local small designer items. More pricey but in the past people owned less clothes that lasted a lifetime, so why not! *says the owner of many jackets & coats* The only problem so far that I see is that all this organic materials’ clothes looks so hippie.
