Vacation sewing – clothes for me

December 29, 2011

I got a chance to use some more of that fabric that has been sitting in my closet for a long time.

For these first two tops I used a shirt I had bought as the pattern.  This first one is using a sweater knit.  It is a thinnish sweater, so it definitely needs something underneath when wearing it.

This one is a lycra jersey.  The fabric has a great hand and is very clingy.  I added some of my artwork with fabric paint to add a bit of interest to it.

This skirt is a sparkly one that I wore for the holidays.  Of course, I didn’t get a picture.  It is a lycra rayon-y material.  Again, rather clingy.  I can roll the waist band up if I want to make it shorter.  The bottom part is a circle skirt and I didn’t hem it, since the material really doesn’t need it.  I’m not going to wash and wear it very often, so I skipped that part.

Then, I made a few more leggings for Anya.  She needed some, since she got a few new blingy tops for Christmas, but no bottoms.  An easy enough fix, since these don’t take much time to make.  The black one is fleece and the pink horse fabric is lycra french terry.

I’ve got one more thing made that I need to show yet.  I’ll get to it soonish, but…likely I will wait to post it since I doubt I will have anything to post next week…or the week after that…or the week after that.
