A hoodie like mom’s

March 4, 2018

After making these hoodies for myself, the girl wanted something along the same lines.

I didn’t go all out with this hoodie, however.  I decided to just modify the Foliis pattern I had from Sofilantjes.

It was a pretty easy modification.  I just cut the back pieces, added a seam allowance and added the pleather/eyelet piece.  The middle back piece I added some width to it, so it would gather a little bit.

The pleather piece is about 6″ long and I have the bottom edge at about the waist on the pattern.  The lacing is elastic, so it stretches.

The fabric is a bamboo stretch fleece for the main body.  The hood and cuffs are a bamboo spandex.  The inside hood houndstooth is from Fabric Anthropology.

The buttons are metal and from Pacific Trimmings.  I should have gone a little smaller, but they are nice.  They are a little heavy, so I will have to watch and see if they start tearing the fabric from the weight.  I should have probably added a small facing just to give it some extra durability.

Overall,  pretty cute hoodie for the tween!
