I love Pinterest. It gives you so many ideas for crafty things to do!
I have seen several shoe remakes on the site, so I thought I would give it a shot with a pair of plain black shoes that I own. I used a silver sharpie and went to town on them while watching TV. It was fun and gives them a little bit of blingy-ness. It may end up needing a spray of poly to them, but I will see how they wear.
A lot of the projects on Pinterest are iffy at best, unfortunately. I actually see a lot of DIY sewing projects that are pretty shoddy. They use the wrong fabrics and crappy construction. I think everyone starts out that way, though. Eventually, you figure out how to do things correctly so they last. Of course, in our culture…making things to last is not a priority anymore. That actually takes time and effort…much better to cut corners and get done fast, right??

Hair – Braided the fringe into the side, and then put everything back into a simple bun.
