A new blanket for Khaleesi

December 29, 2018

This was a fun and quick sew for Fabric Anthropology that I just had to get a Dany wig for the photos!

This is the Dothraki panel with a black cuddle minky that I picked up at Joann’s, I think.  All you do is serge them together, leaving an 8 inch opening.  Turn right sides out, pin the hole closed and topstitch.  Pretty simple and sooooo warm and cozy!

I was sent another minky that was supposed to go on the back, but I didn’t think they matched close enough.  My matchy-matchy OCD would not allow such a thing, so instead I made a fun lounge set.  The pants are my pattern, with a black ponte for the waist.  The minky doesn’t have much stretch at all, so it couldn’t be too tight.  The top is a modified Rulo from George + Ginger.  I made it less wide, added a different sleeve and the cowl.  It is really comfy and soft.  The black is a bamboo fleece.

The colors really are that vibrant!

This round for Fire and Ice is open until January 5th on pre-order.  Retail will be in a few months.
