Focus – Week 10

March 16, 2018

This is a bit late, since Week 11 is almost over, but it pretty much sums up how the last few weeks have gone.  Oy.  I need a break.

My accomplishments this week

Focus Photo –

We got dumped on with snow again last week.  It is always so pretty, but digging out from it is never fun.

Sewing –
  • My 52 week sewing challenge for the week was the color-blocked top here:

This next week is to sew something green.  I will have to think on what I want to make for that challenge.

Three down and six more to go!

A few other things I made:

Softball team top for the girl out of an athletic knit that is on the thicker side.  They have to practice in the dome, so it is a bit chilly in there.

Crappy late night cellphone picture, as I finished it after midnight the day before she needed it.  It has our last name and a big 7 on the back, too.  Looks like I will be doing another for another teammate, too.  Only fair as her mom volunteered to ferry the kid home every day.  Love friends like that!

I also made sheers for our dining room.  I still need to make a few more things before it is partly done.  I don’t want to quick go out and buy new artwork just to get something  up on the walls.   I’ll wait until I see something that I love.

House cleaning –

We still need to get things hauled away and out of the house.  I think I need to just get some of it in the back of my SUV and haul what I can to a place that furnishes home for low income individuals trying to get on their feet.  They take a lot of housewares, so hopefully we can get rid of a few items at least.

I at least got fabric to redo the dining room.

Time with family –

We had a birthday party for the grand-nephew on Saturday, so lots of quality time.  It was a bit hot in the water park for those of us not swimming (I’m not really a fan of water parks), so a shower was needed when we all got home.

Health, exercising, making healthy meals –
  • Holding steady…no big weight gain, but not doing wonderfully on meals, etc.
Creative Design

Just some doodling…

Nada

It was another stressful week where I worked on two pattern tests, tried to get things done for the dining room, and overall a lot of running around.  After this next week I will be working from home, and I am kind of looking forward to that!

  1. I love both your tops! I love it when it snows because I have an excuse not to go out, LOL. We didn’t really get any snow this year though 🙁 🙁 🙁

    1. Thanks! Here we still go out when it snows. 😉 We don’t get the piles of snow that the Northeast US gets, but we get the bitter cold. That is when we don’t want to go out!

  2. I think you got a lot accomplished even though it’s not everything you wanted. You make amazing things. Keep at it. I enjoy reading your blog.
