Fun clothes

September 5, 2011

Note to self:  Next time make her brush her hair before taking pictures.

Next in the sewing parade is a few more outfits that I was trying to use unusual and fun fabrics to make them more…FUN.  This is due to the “no dresses or ruffles” policy that has been instituted by the small blonde one.

*sigh*

She said she loved the pink/blue snakeskin pants…and why wouldn’t she?? Shiny pants!

The shirt with the shiny pants, is what would be called a “mullet shirt”.  Business in the front (with the pockets) and party in the back!  (Mullet reference in case you aren’t from the U.S. redneck country LOL!)  The back I made wider than the front.  I should have made the front longer, though.  As you can see from a photo below.

Ready to disco…obviously.

Next up we have a more conservative outfit (which would be descriptive of pretty much anything that is NOT the outfit above).

This is another outfit in the pink category.  Blindingly pink, to be more accurate.

The top is a graduated dyed stretch panne velvet.  I had to fussy cut it to get the pink part in the middle.  This is just a plain top that is tunic length.  The bottoms are a pink one-way stretch denim.  The first time I cut them the wrong way.  I didn’t have enough room on the fabric to re-cut the entire length of the legs, so I had to “add on” length afterwards.  I went overboard a bit, and made them a bit too long.  Oh well…she’ll grow, I’m sure.  The jeggings have pockets on the side and one pocket has a sparkly iron-on that says “Sweet”.

Hot pink is a hard color to photograph on my camera, since the reds go supersonic.  After color correcting a bit, hopefully you can see these are supposed to be hot pink and not red.

In case you hadn’t noticed Anya was doing her “model poses”.  I had to actually ask her to smile, in which she replied, “But that’s not cool!”

Yes…yes, it is cool to smile.

I swear we don’t watch Project Runway or any of those modeling shows.  I blame the older girls at their childcare.

More to come…

  1. Yes, these are definitely FUN clothes! I am loving that PINK set! And I don’t even wear pink 🙂 She is too funny rocking those model poses!

  2. a) How precious is she? and how easily does the whole modelling thing come to her??????? (future career?????)
    b) LOVIN these outfits. I remember when the BA went through the leggings and tops phase. I loved it! Comfortable and yet gorgeous.
Have been looking at both posts: Nice touches all the way through. Love the ‘sweet’ sparkly touch; LOVE the tie dyed velvet pink top; the pockets on the ‘mullet’ top are SO cool and I secretly yearn to wear the shiny snakeskin pants!!!! Camo is v cool and mixes well wth the mint green top….all in all a great crop of stylish garments.
