New pillows

February 24, 2019

I have a list of things I have wanted to get sewn up over the time I am on hiatus from working (i.e. unemployed).  One thing on the list was some big pillows for the 1.5 chair in the basement by the fire.  It is a deep chair and really needs to have some pillows.

I used the extra fabric that I had from recovering the bench and some velvet I had from some other pillows I made for the couches upstairs.

I cut the pillows out at 20″ x 20″.  The stuffing was actually from some old bed pillows and old pillow forms.  I try to reuse things instead of throwing them in the trash when they seem worn out.

I have ordered some fabric for bigger pillows on the couches upstairs.  The ones on there are a little small.  I made 4 designs and ordered the Celosia Velvet in 4 fat quarters to make two pillows.

Now I just have to wait the weeks it will take to get the velvet and then I can sew up the pillows for upstairs.  I have an in-process post on Spoonflower fabrics.   I ordered some other velvet samples and it printed the color off from the design.  I’m curious as to how off this one will be, or if it will be closer to the actual design.  I have also started an order from one of the custom fabric hosts for a few of my designs.  We’ll see how long that takes, since it is ordered at the same time as their regular order.  Can’t wait to get them!
