OOTD – Week of October 28th

November 3, 2019

I’m going to try to do this again. I don’t expect that I will get every day, but maybe a few! I tend to get stuck in a rut of reaching for the same clothes, and I end up having a lot of clothes I don’t wear if I do so. This is going to get me to try different options, which will also require me to plan ahead. I also need to work on not wearing so many heels. I have a sit/stand desk at work, and I can’t stand in heels for even part of the day. Time for me to cull out some of those higher heels. I’m just not wearing them as much. My back and knees don’t tolerate them well anymore. Getting older…geez!

Monday, October 28th:

  • Top: New make. This is my own pattern in my own fabric design on bamboo (custom order through Nature’s Fabrics).
  • Sweater: Purchased from CAbi
  • Skirt: Made a few years back, and I just shortened the “tail” on the skirt. It was too long and getting stuck in my chair’s wheels.
  • Boots: Wild Diva via Zulily. Quite tall heel, and not horrible walking in them, though I couldn’t stand at my desk in them.
  • Hairstyle: I put my hair in a ponytail at the top of my head, folded it in a loop and then took different pieces and put them in a sort of messy bun. My hair is shorter than I’ve had it in a looooong time, so I’m trying different things right now.

Tuesday, October 29th:

  • Dress: New make. I mashed a Sneha from Wardrobe by Me with the Sophia dress from Bella Sunshine. This is a pretty roomy dress, so pretty comfortable while sitting at work. The fabric is stretch French terry bamboo from Nature’s Fabrics.
  • Scarf: New make. This was just an extra piece of minky from a blanket I sewed up a few years ago.
  • Boots: Etienne Aigner via Zulily a few years ago. I have had to repair the heels on them due to peeling. I definitely wear these a lot.
  • Jewelry: Earrings from Stella & Dot, Necklace I got at a shop recently, but can’t remember which one.
  • Hairstyle: I did two reverse braids with wet hair and then curled up the ends and pinned them underneath.

I forgot to take pictures before work, so this was just the aftermath. I had bunco that night at a neighbors house, so I put on some warmer leggings before going over there. I made the dress and scarf on Monday night, since I was on a roll with sewing. Starting to get some energy back to do things at night.

Wednesday, October 30th:

  • Cardigan: I made this last year with a modal and my own pattern.
  • Woven tank: purchased from Express
  • Pants: I made these a few years ago from scuba suede and my own pattern.
  • Scarf: This was my first snapped scarf, and I did a tutorial on it.
  • Boots: Miz Mooz via Zulily
  • Earrings: Design Toscano
  • Hair: aftermath of the day before and taking out braids. I didn’t even brush it. Just finger combed and called it good.

Thursday, October 31st (Halloween!):

  • Pants: Made this summer from scuba knit.
  • Scarf: Purchased a few years ago. Had to have some skulls for Halloween!
  • Cross front top: Made a few years ago.
  • Sweater: Purchased – August Silk
  • Boots: iHeart Collection via Zulily
  • Earrings: sterling silver via Zulily
  • Hair: Probably should have washed it up, but I was lazy. I put it back in a couple of ponytails that I flipped over.

Friday, November 1st:

  • Dress: New make. This was a sweatshirt fleece by Worth, and mostly the same pattern as Tuesday’s dress. The fabric is super soft and comfy feeling. I just added a funnel neck to this one.
  • Scarf: Made this one a few years ago from flannel and a sweater knit. Same tutorial as the green scarf above. I was supposed to wear flannel, and this is as much flannel as I have in my wardrobe.
  • Boots: Nine West.
  • Jewelry: Stella & Dot earrings
  • Hairstyle: From a wet head, I braided up the back from underneath, put it in a pointail at the top and wound it around in a bun. Probably should have taken a picture from the back, huh??

Saturday, November 2nd:

No picture. Sorry. I was just wearing some very warm and comfy pair of lounge pants I made plus an Old Navy tshirt.

Sunday, November 3rd:

  • Top – Made this top mainly from the Rulo pattern from George + Ginger. Actually, I did make it longer, added the cowl and added narrow sleeves, so a bit more than the base pattern. I made it from bamboo jersey from Nature’s Fabrics.
  • Leggings – fleece leggings from Zulily
  • Jacket – Jessica Simpson knit jacket. Really need to copy the pattern to make more since I am wearing it out.
  • Boots – Life Stride
  • Jewelry – gift
  • Hair – 2 braids. It was a volleyball pool play day so I was going for comfy!

That’s a wrap on this week!
