We fight.

“We fight.  That is how we win, that is how we die.”

Ragnar to Bjorn, Season 3, The Vikings

Look familiar?  Well, I did make my hubby a t-shirt with that saying on it from fabric from Fabric Anthropology.  The panels were adult only, though.  My girl reads a lot of Y.A. books on female assassins (Sarah Maas books, mostly), so she kind of wanted this for herself, too.  I knew the panel would be too big for her small frame, so I went ahead and used the quote with a font I found on 1001fonts.com.  I drew the Viking Seax and the runes at the bottom.

The back of the shirt has this on it, which I also drew.  Weeding out the tapestry was a PITA, so it didn’t necessarily turn out the best.  It’s small, though, so I don’t think the “errors” will stand out that much.

Yeah…super fun.

She originally wanted red vinyl on a black shirt, but I am out of red vinyl.  I did have red bamboo lycra, though, so we compromised by switching up the colors.  She liked an off the shoulder RTW shirt she got for her birthday, so I used that as a base pattern.  It didn’t stay off the shoulders when she wore it, so I modified a few things, and I think it turned out pretty “cute”.  You know…cute, for a war-like shirt. 😉

She said it was “Perfect!”.  🙂

    1. Thanks! It took me a while to actually cut it out…I wasn’t looking forward to that weeding!
