Summer sweaters

July 11, 2011

Summertime is hard to dress for office wear.  Outside it is in the 80’s or 90’s and inside they have the A/C blowing on you and it is in the 70’s…if you are lucky.  I have a heater in my office that I use often.  I think I need to have a stash of pashmina shawls there for summer wear.

This is a nice lightweight lacy sweater, and I have two of them: one in off-white and one in white.  When something seems useful, I tend to buy more than one.

Hair Day #8:

First, I do a french twist with my fresh-from-the-shower hair.  I comb my hair out and then I take it into a pony hold at the nape of my neck.  I start twisting it up and twist and tighten up the middle to the top of my head.  Now I stick about 3 3″ pins in my hair (bottom, middle and top), while I hold it tight with the other hand.  Stick them in the edge of the roll down to the hair on the scalp and then push horizontally and up a bit.  You want to capture the edge of the roll, hair at the scalp and then the other edge of the roll to keep it tight.  Now you have a bunch of hair at the top.  Split it into two equal sections and losely braid.  Secure the ends with elastic ties.  Now roll them in circles, part on the top and part along the side.  Secure with pins using the same method as the roll.  You may have to secure and re-secure until it feels tight.  If it moves when you move your head a bit, redo.  It may take some practice before you figure out how to place them right.
