New design and pillows

March 6, 2019

I had another set of pillows on my “to do” list, and that was for our sectional.  It kind of needs pillows to lean against and all the pillows we have are small.  I made them several years ago.  I decided to design a pattern for them, and ended up making 4 different patterns.  One for each side of the two pillows.

The Celosia Velvet from Spoonflower printed pretty well.  It ended up being a bit brighter orange than what I wanted, so it looks really 1970’s to me.  It will work though, since I can always turn it over to the more brown side.

The construction was pretty simple.  I usually stabilize the opening with a zigzag, as you pull at the seams when stuffing them.

I used old pillows to stuff them with.  I washed them first, and then had to tear the insides apart a bit.  They get a bit stuck together when pillows get older, so this allowed me to recycle some old pillows I had sitting around.
