Striped maxi dress

May 2, 2019

I have really pulled back lately in sewing up strike off samples, but I rather liked this stripe from Moonbeam Textile Company. It is part of their Floral Force pre-order round that runs until May 21st.

I thought this print would work great for a maxi dress, so I based this off of my favorite one that I made a few years back. I took the Sneha pattern from Wardrobe by Me (Affiliate Link), and lengthened the skirt to be about 54″ from the top of the armpit to the hem. It is a generous 3″ hem, which I like to have on these dresses. It looks better than a thinner hem.

It is still a bit cold in these parts, so I actually took off the vest and put on my nice warm cream cardigan. The colors in the stripe are white, bordering on cream, black and the oranges and browns. It is a very versatile print.

The fabric is a bamboo lycra. I love this base for making these comfortable flowy dresses. So very comfy!

If you would like to order this print, you can order here until May 21st.
